WHAT IS AN AU PAIR?
An Au Pair is a person who moves into a host family’s house to work for them for a year. During that period of time, they will take care of their children in return for accomodation, food and a weekly salary, apart from the opportunity to work and study in a foreign country.
AU PAIR VISA REQUIREMENTS
Age: You have to be between 18 and 26 years old to apply.
Experience: You need to have a minimum of 200 hours of childcare experience.
Education: You need to have completed High School (or be about to finish at the time you apply).
Valid driver's license.
Certificate of Good Conduct: It is given by the RNR and proves that you don’t have a criminal record.
Good Health.
Commitment to stay: You need to be willing to spend at least 12 months abroad.

DO I NEED TO SPEAK ENGLISH TO BE AN AU PAIR?
In order for you to be eligible as an Au Pair, conversational level of English is required. You don’t need to be an expert on the language, but you do need to make sure that you will be able to communicate fluently with locals.
One of the main purposes of this experience is to study and learn a new language, which is why, when applying, you should definitely go for a country that speaks a language different to yours.
HOW CAN I ACHIEVE THE REQUIRED HOURS OF CARE?
Some jobs that can help you get those necessary childcare hours of experience are: babysitting, working in nurseries, maternity wards or kindergartens, training kids in some sport, tutoring children on specific subjects and volunteer jobs.

HOW MUCH MONEY CAN I EARN WORKING AS AN AU PAIR?
